A man has been arrested in connection with the seizure of weapons in Ballinasloe.
Gardaí received a report of a man brandishing a weapon at River Street, Ballinasloe just before 9 this morning.
On arrival at the scene, Gardaí searched a car and seized a machete, hatchet and knife.
A man, aged in his 20s, was arrested at the scene.
He's currently being detained at a station in the Garda North Western Region and investigations are ongoing.
