Midlands-North West MEP Marian Harkin to quit European politics

Galway Bay fm newsroom - Independent MEP Marian Harkin will not contest the European elections next month for the Midlands-North West constituency.

Marian Harkin says she has served the people of the constituency for three terms since 2004, and believes she has made a contribution in the most positive way.

The MEP also says she still has a huge interest in politics and aims to make a further contribution, in some way, in the future.
