Minister for Education Hildegarde Naughton will today visit Claregalway Educate Together National School to mark its 20th anniversary.
The school first opened in a renovated bungalow on the far side of the village, moving to its purpose-built school building in 2019.
Minister Naughton says since opening its doors in 2005 under the patronage of Educate Together, with just two staff and 29 pupils, it has grown into a vibrant educational community serving 220 pupils and a team of 27 staff.
The Minister also acknowledged the important role the school plays as a Rural DEIS school, helping to ensure that every child has the opportunity to succeed regardless of their background or circumstances.
Minister Naughton also highlighted the school’s commitment to inclusive education through the development of its specialist autism supports.
