New ambulance crew hired for Merlin Park base

Galway Bay fm newsroom - New ambulance crew have been recruited to staff the Merlin Park base.

The additional crew will bring to four the number of ambulance crews serving Galway from Merlin Park during the day and will bring to three the new number of crews operating at night.

They will be deployed on a 24 hour basis.

Minister of State and Galway West TD Sean Kyne says the additional staff will help ease pressure in areas such as Connemara as the need to call ambulances into the city will be reduced.
