A major new pedestrian and cycle bridge over the River Corrib in the city is back on track after funding was pulled last year.
The ambitious project would be built on the remains of the old Clifden Railway Line Bridge, and would connect Dyke Road with the University of Galway campus.
Last year, there was widespread dismay after the National Transport Authority withdrew support, leaving it in limbo.
But at City Hall last night, it was revealed that it's now being fully supported by the Urban Regeneration and Development Fund.
