New community loan fund to 'unlock' stalled social projects in Galway

A new Community Impact Loan Fund has been launched, which aims to 'unlock' stalled social support projects in Galway.

It's a joint initiative between COPE Galway and St Columba's Credit Union, aimed at supporting projects for those experiencing homelessness, domestic abuse, and social isolation.

They say while Government schemes can provide significant funding, there's a well recognized financing gap for the remainder that can cause considerable delays.

This €1.4m fund aims to alleviate that, and ensure a smooth pipeline of finance to ensure they're delivered as efficiently as possible.
