The next phase of improvement works at Oranmore Train Station will begin in May.
Advanced enabling works and an underpass installation have been completed, meaning the project is now moving to its main construction phase.
This next and significant phase will include the delivery of a new section of extra track and a platform, which will allow a doubling of train services to the station.
The new platform will be accessed via the underpass, which also provides a dedicated cycle route to lands to the north.

The platform will be fully-accessible with an access stairs, lift and ramp, with shelters, lighting, seating and CCTV also to be installed.
The works will be delivered by Triur Construction and are expected to be completed in late 2027.
