The HSE North-West region has the slowest rate of transfers from hospital to community care settings in the country.
That's according to figures released to Roscommon/Galway TD Dr. Martin Daly.
Raising the matter in the Dáil, he said the North-West accounts for almost 1,300 delays transfers - and that's one third of the national figure.
Fianna Fail Deputy Daly further pointed out that the region only accounts for one-fifth of Ireland's population.

Deputy Daly said the North-West is simply not getting the resources it needs.
