A one way system will be in place on Bóthar Stiofáin for 10 weeks from next Wednesday (21/01)
The southbound lane of the road will be closed to facilitate the next phase of active travel works on the roads footpaths.
The system will be in place 24 hours a day between the Rahoon Road junction and the entrance to the gateway shopping park.
Vehicles exiting estates and homes on the road will have to turn left and divert to the Rahoon road and must reenter their homes using the northbound lane.
Fianna Fail Councillor for Galway City West, Peter Keane, says the upgrades will make the road much safer for children in the area.
