OPW Minister invited to discuss delays with South Galway Flood Relief scheme

The Minister for the OPW will be invited to discuss delays for the South Galway Flood Relief scheme.

The County Council is also planning to hold a meeting with the local campaign group to provide an update on the process and alleviate fear.

Engagement with the National Parks and Wildlife Service began almost two years ago, which has resulted in a huge amount of data collection and the need for expert consultants.

The scheme was discussed at this week's Loughrea MD meeting, with the council keen to stree the delays are not coming from the local authority's side.
