Over 100 homes without power but County Council reports no significant impacts after Storm Bram

The clean up begins today after Storm Bram.

Strong winds continued to sweep northwards across the country overnight, but calmer conditions have returned this morning with all weather alerts now expired.

However motorists and farmers are being warned to remain alert for a continued risk from surface water, debris and fallen wires.

ESB crews worked late into the night restoring homes and businesses which lost power during yesterday's violent winds, and teams will be back out again this morning at first light.

77 homes and businesses near Mountbellew Moylough, 14 in Ballygar and another 26 near Gort are without power - with electricity expected to be restored by 5PM.

Galway County Council have reported no significant impacts locally - other than minor issues that are being managed by each area office
