Galway's public hospitals are under severe pressure today - with more than 110 people on trolleys.
It comes as UHG is dealing with outbreaks of the winter vomiting bug as well as high numbers of flu cases.
At the city hospital, there are 81 people waiting for a bed according to the INMO - the highest figure in the country today.
One ward is currently closed due to Norovirus, and visiting restrictions are in place for the entire hospital.
Meanwhile, at Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe, there are 30 patients on trolleys - this is also an atypically high figure for the smaller hospital.
