Over 1,300 patients were on trolleys at UHG last month - the second highest figure in the country by a significant margin.
That's according to new figures from the INMO for the month of January.
1,356 patients went without a bed at UHG last month, one of the worst figures for January on record.
It was the second highest figure nationwide, behind University Hospital Limerick at 1,991.
It'll come as no surprise to many, as UHG has been under severe pressure since before Christmas, with almost 100 patients on trolleys on one occassion recently.
Meanwhile, 324 patients went without at bed at Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe in January.
That's a much lower figure on first glance, but relative to its much smaller size, shows there are serious challenges there too.
Compared to 10 years ago, trolley figures for January have increased by 250% at UHG, and 500% at Portiuncula.
