An online petition to reopen Galway Airport has gathered just over 2,400 signatures.
The airport at Carnmore has been closed to flights for over a decade, and the site has been used for concerts in recent years.
Those behind it are looking to bring the petition to the County Council - and say it would bring benefits such as economic growth, tourism potential and transport connectivity.
