Over 3.5 million meals have been distributed to support services in Galway since 2018
That's according to FoodCloud, which has been managing the distribution of surplus food to these local initiatives and groups.
Since the community meals partnerships with AIB began in 2018, 1.5 million kgs of food was given to different groups around Galway.
Founded in 2012, the Irish non-profit has given a total of 450 million meals worth of surplus food internationally, that equates to 200,000 tonnes of food.
