Plans are underway to transform two full blocks at Ballybrit Business Park into a temporary 62-bedroom hub.

It's understood the occupants will be male and each room will be shared by five people.

Speaking to Galway Talks, Minister Anne Rabbitte says those seeking protection must be put somewhere - and the city has the services to support them.
