Over €400,000 in funding has been announced for 2 projects at Brackloon Castle.
€233 thousand will go towards a sustainable self-catering unit beside the castle with two bedrooms, a bathroom, living area, and kitchen.
€176 thousand has been allocated for a new building on the castle grounds, which will include an archive room and toilet facilities.
The funding comes under the Fáilte Ireland EU just transition scheme, giving a total of €5.5 million to regenerative projects across Midlands.

The fund aims to create new opportunities for communities affected by economic change, by investing in the tourism industry in these areas.
