Over €60m in roads funding for Galway projects

€63m in roads funding has been announced for national, regional and local road projects in Galway this year.

The biggest allocation is €4.5 million for the Galway City Bypass, under the New Roads programme.

Several projects are receiving more than €2m - including pavement and drainage works in Claregalway, road upgrade in Kilbannon, and the Athenry Relief Road.

Over a million each is going toward traffic calming on the N83 Claregalway, realignment of the N17 Milltown- Gortnagunnad and N63 Liss Abbeyknockmoy

Seán Canney TD, Minister of State has confirmed €63,332,150 million in national, regional and local road funding as part of the 2026 roads investment programme.

Regional and local road allocations are found here - and national road projects can be viewed at Transport Infrastructure Ireland.
