A person has been taken to UHG following a crash on the motorway near Oranmore.
The collision, involving a truck and a car, happened near Junction 19 westbound at around 7.50am.
The road was closed for a time as emergency services attended the scene, but has since reopened.
Gardaí say the driver of the car was taken to UHG with non life threatening injuries.
