Galway Bay fm newsroom - There are plans for a new hotel just off Eyre Square.
R Byrne has applied for permission to build a six-level hotel with 84 en-suite rooms and 215 bed spaces at Victoria Place.
It'd also include a basement service and storage area - and would require the demolition of an existing snooker hall premises.
City planners are due to make a decision in June.
