Plans lodged for first ever Park and Ride facility in Galway City

Plans have been lodged for the first ever permanent Park and Ride facility in Galway City.

The 176 car development, overseen by the National Transport Authority, would be based at Cappagh Road in Knocknacarra.

The Cappgh Road/Western Distributor Road roundabout will be slightly redeveloped, with a new exit to provide direct entry to the Park and Ride.

Plans have now been lodged, with a decision due in several months, though an exact timeline on construction and completion is not yet known.
