Plans for a mobile coffee shop at the Long Point in Loughrea are to go to tender.
The move follows calls from several councillors to have toilet facilities open 365 days a year at the popular swimming spot.
The operator of the coffee shop will be responsible for the opening, closing and maintenance of the bathroom facilities year round.
According to local Fianna Fáil councillor Michael Regan, this move will save the County Council 50 to 100 thousand euros per year and be of great benefit to the area
