Portumna marina bylaws formally approved after series of delays

Galway Bay fm newsroom - New by-laws for Portumna Marina will come into effect from the 2nd of January.

The regulations have been formally approved by the County Council following a series of delays.

The marina was officially reopened in April this year after a major renovation and upgrade of the motorhome parking facilities.

The by-laws aim to protect and manage the amenity.

Among the regulations are a €10 overnight charge for motorhomes, a 3-day stay limit, and a ban on camping equipment and generators.

In late May, the original by-laws drawn up by the council were sent back to the drawing board due to the outcome of legal proceedings in another county.

The regulations come into effect in the New Year.
