President Catherine Connolly has cancelled her engagements today after her husband became unwell at an event yesterday.
President Connolly was hosting an event for ambassadors and consular representatives at Áras an Uachtaráin when Brian McEnery fell ill.
As a result, she will not be attending two events in the city today as planned.
The first is the launch of an An Taisce Irish language handbook for Green Schools at University of Galway.
The second is the book launch of "Siúlóidí Dúlra Ghaillimh S'Againne" by Joe McGinley and Patrick McGinley at Galway Hospice.
President Connolly is also scheduled to attend events in Galway tomorrow and Saturday, and it's been confirmed these engagements will be going ahead.
The first is the launch of Scoil Gheimhridh Joe Steve in the Cois Fharraige area tomorrow, followed by the official launch of the new Clan stand at Dexcom Stadium on Saturday.
