President of Ireland Catherine Connolly says rising homelessness in Ireland is an "obscenity" that cannot be ignored.

She's been speaking at the launch of a national report on older adult homelessness at University of Galway.

The report by Simon Communities says the number of homeless pensioners has more than doubled in 3 years.

President Connolly praised the charity's work, and said their report clearly lays out recommendations for how the crisis could be better tackled.
