Galway Bay fm newsroom - President Michael D Higgins is en route to Galway to unveil the new Padraig O'Conaire statue in the city.
The original statue was moved to Galway City Museum over ten years ago while Eyre Square was undergoing a multi-million euro revamp.
The bronze replica of Albert Power's original is to be located at John F Kennedy memorial park at Eyre Square.
The unveiling event takes place at noon today.
