Property prices increased by seven point three per cent in the year to October.
That's a slight decline in the rate recorded the previous month.
In the West, which includes Galway, Mayo and roscommon, the rise was 6 per cent
CSO figures show the cost of buying a home went up by 7.3 per cent in the 12 months to October, that's down from a rate of 7 point 5 per cent in the year to September.
Properties outside the capital increased by almost 9 per cent, while Dublin prices are up 5 point 4 per cent.
The median price of a home is now 381 thousand euro.
The region outside of Dublin with the highest price growth was the midlands, that's Laois, Longford, Offaly and Westmeath, where prices were up more than 15 per cent.
At the other end of the scale the West saw prices rise by 6 per cent, that includes Counties Galway, Mayo, and Roscommon.
