A red flag being placed at Portumna Lake is being described as a complete overreaction.
It was erected after a handful of representations were made to the County Council over reeds at the bathing area.
Fine Gael Councillor Jimmy McClearn says it seems no investigation was carried out, and the council simply took the 'easy option'.
Councillor McClearn claims there was no need for the red flag in this instance:
