Refusal for more than 100 new homes in Loughrea

Planning permission has been refused for more than 100 new homes in Loughrea.

Jardonelle Limited had sought permission for 107 homes on a site at Baunoge, adjoining existing homes.

They would've been mostly three-bed units, with some single, two and four bed homes.

County planners have now refused permission on several grounds, including environmental impact, lack of open space and substandard road design.
