Rents in Galway continue to climb steadily

Rents in Galway are continuing to climb steadily, according to the latest report from property website Daft.ie.

In Galway City, the average rent of a two-bed apartment is now €2,081, up more than 7 percent compared to this time last year.

In Galway County, the average rent of a three-bed house is €1,716, an increase of more than 11 percent in the last 12 months.

Both are well above the national average of 4.3 percent.

Rents also rose at a far slower pace in Dublin, due to increasing supply of rental homes there.

Report author, economist Ronan Lyons, says other cities outside the capital are falling well behind.
