Galway Bay fm newsroom - The road between Eyrecourt and Banagher has re-opened following a crash in which a young man lost his life.
A 23 year old man died following the single-car incident on the R356 shortly after midnight.
The driver from Banagher in Offaly was the sole occupant of the vehicle which struck a wall at Shannon Grove on the Galway/Offaly border.
His body has been taken to Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe.

A technical examination of the scene has taken place and the R356 between Eyrecourt and Banagher has reopened.
