Sharp rise in numbers of Galway children overdue Assessment of Need

There's been sharp rise in the number of Galway children who are overdue for an Assessment of Need.

Galway East TD Louis O' Hara says the figures have risen by almost 50 per cent since June, with 374 children now waiting.

Nationally, more than 18 thousand are on a list, with an average wait time of 27 months, compared to the statutory 6 month wait.

Sinn Féin TD O’Hara says without a change in approach, the situation will only get worse
