Gaeltacht Minister and Galway West TD Sean Kyne is officiating at the event.
A contractor was appointed late last year for the major building project, which had been subject to planning delays.
The new building will have 24 classrooms and capacity for 600 pupils, and will be located opposite the pitches at Millars Lane.
