Galway Bay fm newsroom - A status yellow wind warning is in place for Galway
MET Eireann has issued the warning for most of Connacht and nine other counties across the country.
The national forecaster says South to southeast winds will increase strong to gale force and gusty in coastal counties of Ireland today.
The winds will persist overnight and into tomorrow with gusts of up to 110 km/h at times.
