Traffic management in place for sold-out Galway match in Salthill this Sunday

Traffic management will be in place for Galways sold out All Ireland Championship match in Pearse Stadium.

Widespread congestion is expected on all approaches to Salthill, with over 24,000 expected to attend the tie against the Leinster champions Westmeath.

Gardai are advising supporters to leave plenty of time and arrive early to avoid delays.

Road closures will be in place allowing for local access only.

Outer cordons will be in operating on the prom between the Dalysfort road junction and Rockbarton west, at Rockbarton road and on Salthill road upper at the Lenaboy Garden junction.

Lower Salthill at the Devon park junction, Taylors Hill at the Rosary Lane Junction and junctions at Threadneedle and Dr Mannix road will also have cordons.

Parking in the City Centre is encouraged, with the regular bus service to Salthill in operation throughout the day.

Gardaí are also asking attendees to be respectful fo those in the local area, there will be zero tolerance for illegal parking in Salthill or around the stadium.
