Transport Minister expects clarity on revamped Galway-Mountbellew bus in coming weeks

The Transport Minister says he expects more clarity on the revamped 425A Galway-Mountbellew bus in the coming weeks.

Among the changes first floated by the NTA were rerouting the service into Athenry and a number of new bus stops.

But there's been considerable opposition to the bus being redirected into Athenry, and a public consultation in January drew over 100 submissions from the public.

The Transport Minister has now confirmed he expects the review of those submissions to be completed by the end of this month.

Raising the issue in the Dáil, Galway East Fianna Fail TD Albert Dolan said it's vital that the NTA gets it right.
