Galway Bay fm newsroom - The existing health care centre in Tuam is to become the headquarters for the Social Care Team for Galway, Mayo and Roscommon.
Galway East T.D Seán Canney says it brings another service to the town and means an additional 12 HSE staff will be deployed to Tuam.
The building was recently vacated by the HSE which moved clinic staff to the new Primary Care Unit.
Renovation works are currently underway at the old clinic.

It's understood staff will relocate once the works are finished.
