Two Galway schools have been included in the first roll out of new Education Therapy Services.
The two schools are St. Joseph Special School in Newcastle and Abalta Special School in Parkmore.
The service is a stand-alone commitment under the programme of Government, which aims to strengthen supports for children with special education needs.
It will place therapists directly within school communities, ensuring children have access to timely practical support.
Minister for Education Galway West TD, Hildegarde Naughton said this represents a major step foward in how we support children with additional needs.
