University of Galway has been chosen to operate a new national "supercomputer".
Known as CASPlr, it'll be operated by the university's Irish Centre for High-End Computing, or ICHEC.
The machine will drive advanced research and modelling in academic, industry and public sector applications.
CASPlr is one of 31 supercomputers across Europe, and it will enter service in 2027.
Professor JC Desplat from ICHEC explains just how powerful the machine is.
