University of Galway is marking the fourth anniversary of Russia's invasion of Ukraine with a series of public events today and tomorrow. (23/24 - 2)
They include documentary and film screenings, panel discussions, Ukrainian literature readings, and a special mass service.
The first event is a screening of documentary '2000 meters to Andriivka' at the Hardiman Research Building this evening at 5.30pm, followed by discussion.
Tomorrow there'll be a full day of events, starting at 11.30am with a special mass service in the Chapel of St. Columbanus, which will be jointly in English and Ukrainian.
Following that at midday, there'll be a special reading called 'Words that Remain', focused on the works of Ukrainian writers during the war.
At lunchtime, a dedicated collection of Ukrainian literature and scholarship will be launched at the University of Galway Library.
Then, the Hardiman Research Building will host a panel discussion on how Ukrainians continue to assert identity, culture and survival under invasion and displacement.
Finally, at 4pm, there'll be a screening of "People", the first feature film about the Russian Invasion, for an English-speaking audience.
