University of Galway has launched its new medical device prototype hub in partnership with Medtronic.
The development of the facility is part of the five-year five million euro signature innovation collaboration.
The hub will provide a full service, one-stop, solution for 3D printing needs and will be equipped with state-of-the-art technologies.
The hub will help support regional growth in life sciences and medical technologies, and will be enhanced through high-profile partnerships.
President of University of Galway, Professor David Burn, said:
