The University of Galway says it's not discontinuing its general arts courses, and is instead looking at "reimagining" them.
A review of arts courses was initiated in 2024, due to a sustained decline in student numbers, according to The Irish Times.
However the University says It's part of an early stage consultation, which asks its academics to reconsider how the courses are offered.
The University says it's conscious of changing demographics and students' interests.
It's also emphasising that no changes are being introduced at the moment.
