University of Galway will team up with other colleges for the establishment of a €1m mental health research network - the first of its kind in Ireland.
The ‘Collaborative Research Network’ will embed lived experience in mental health research, foster international collaboration and develop training.
It will be led by Maynooth University, in partnership with the University of Galway, and the National Suicide Research Foundation at University College Cork.
Meanwhile, as part of a further €2m funding announcement, University of Galway's Prof. Margaret Barry, is working on a project which will look at mental health promotion in community settings.
