Visiting restrictions at UHG due to winter vomiting bug outbreak

There are visiting restrictions in place at University Hospital Galway due to an outbreak of the winter vomiting bug.

The hospital is asking members of the public who have symptons of the bug not to visit.

Visiting restrictions are in place on St Mary’s and St Teresa’s ward - with visiting restricted to compassionate grounds only and with arrangements with the Ward manager in advance.

Visitors are asked to fully cooperate with hospital staff, as infection control procedures will remain in place on those wards until further notice

If you have any symptoms of diarrhoea and/or vomiting, you should not come to visit until all symptoms are fully resolved for at least 48 hours
