Woman hospitalised following Salthill water rescue

Galway Bay fm newsroom - A woman is being treated in hospital after she was rescued from the water in Salthill last night.

The woman, aged in her 40s, was spotted by a passerby on the rocks near Ladies Beach at around 8pm.

The Fire Services, the RNLI and Gardai were then tasked to the scene where the woman was brought back to shore in a lifeboat as the tide was coming in.

She was taken to UHG with suspected hypothermia.
