A workshop to help with the design of a proposed new children's hospital in the West of Ireland is to take place in Galway.

Families with lived experience of caring for a child with a life-limiting illness are invited to take part in the workshop, which takes place in the Connacht Hotel this Saturday from 9am to 1pm.

The Sunflower Childrens Hospital will be located in Castlebar Co.Mayo, making it the first Childrens hospice in the West of Ireland.

Currently, the next closest option for parents would be the Laura Lynn children's hospice in Dublin, which is a 2 and a half hour drive from Galway.
