Ireland has picked up a second medal at the European Youth Olympics in North Macedonia. Donegal athlete Erin Friel won a bronze medal in the Girls’ 400 metres, following on from Ben Sykes’ bronze in the Boys’ 100 metres yesterday. The two Galway athletes are both in action tomorrow morning, with Claregalway’s Matthew Newell from Tuam AC going in the 5 kilometres Race Walk and Oranmore’s Conor Penney from Craughwell Athletic Club going in the High Jump.
