There will be a heroes' welcome in Corinthians RFC in Cloonanacauneen tonight at 8.30 pm for Ireland's latest Swimming star, John Shortt from Roscam in Galway, after the 18-year-old won 2 Gold medals and 1 Bronze at the World Junior Aquatics Championships in Romania. John won gold in the 100m and 200m backstroke events and bronze in the 50m backstroke event. He was the only Irish Swimmer at the Championships, and his performance puts Ireland 9th overall in the medal table, ahead of countries like Germany, Australia and New Zealand.
