The Story
The Claregalway Agricultural Show began in 1991, started by a small group of passionate community members. Over the years, the show has grown tremendously—while still run by a dedicated volunteer committee, it now attracts large crowds and offers a wide range of competitions and entertainment.
From its humble beginnings in the local Community Centre and GAA grounds, the show moved to a larger venue thanks to the generous support of the Duffy family in Rockwood, who continue to host the event at their top-class facilities. The show committee is sincerely grateful for their ongoing support.
Past chairpersons include Ray Halpin, Séamus O’Connell, and the late Paul Fleming—one of our founding members. Today, the committee is led by chairperson Val Noone, carrying the tradition forward with great pride.
