Galway United fell to a 1-0 defeat against Shelbourne at Tolka Park on Sunday evening. A 77th-minute penalty from Harry Wood sentenced John Caulfield's men to a second consecutive league defeat. United failed to capitalise on their game in hand on Sligo Rovers and are now level on points with their Western rivals in the relegation playoff place. The match was preceded by a moment's silence for the late Ollie Horgan. Next up for United is a trip to Inchicore to take on St. Patricks Athletic in the FAI cup quarter final on Sunday evening.
